Wedding Of The Century - Chapter Fifty Three

The big day had finally arrived, and Emily was more nervous than ever. Emily started with a bath only a few hours before it was time for the biggest day of her life. She was finally going to marry Dimitri. A day she thought would never happen. Everything from the beginning of their relationship was a struggle. The previous night Dimitri was taken by his brother and best friend to celebrate the upcoming wedding. Emily could only hope they all showed up in one piece and sober.

Emily slipped into her wedding dress and was very happy that it still fits with her growing belly. After finishing with her makeup and hair, Emily placed her mother's first crown that was given to her when she married her father. It would be passed down through the generations to keep my mother's memory alive.

As she stepped back and took a look at herself, she was happy with the way she looked but was saddened by the fact that she would be without her family today. Her father would not be walking her down the aisle like any other girl on their wedding day. Her heart sank as she shrugged off the tears that threatened her.

They decided on a small ceremony with only a handful of guests. As everyone gathered inside, the wedding party gathered in the small room in the back to wait for the music to start. Emily's nerves were getting the better of her when the music started. The first to go down the aisle was Dimitri's younger brother, Daniel, and Lilly. Lilly wrapped her arm around Daniels and proceeded down the aisle in perfect step.

Next was Jen and Chris that followed behind Lilly and Daniel. They were all smiles, and soon they would be having a wedding of their own.

Then to my surprise, my sister popped around the corner with a grin on her face. Emily had not spoken to Hannah since Dimitri took her from the Nightwalker queen's house. Hannah and Luke stopped in front of Emily in hopes this would make her happy. "It was Dimitri's idea. He thought it would be nice for you to have a part of your family here on your big day. I hope you don't mind," Hannah told Emily. Emily shook her head as she fought the urge to cry. Emily embraced Hannah, "I'm so glad your here. Of course, I want you at my wedding," Emily told Hannah as she stepped back to get a look at her. "We will catch up later, for now, let's get you married to Dimitri," Hannah said as she turned with Luke and proceed down the aisle behind Chris and Jen.

The music changes, and Emily knows that it's her turn to walk down the aisle. Emily walks out of the room and stands at the entrance of the church. Everyone stands with all eyes on her. Emily quickly scans the room to find Dimitri at the head of the church, standing there, all dressed up and handsome.

Emily was focused on Dimitri the whole time as she made it step by step closer to the front. Dimitri was all smiles, and Emily could tell he was a little nervous. Emily continued walking till she was standing right beside Dimitri, who couldn't take his eyes off her.

"It is one of life's richest surprises when the meeting of the two of you have found each other and have decided to be together as husband and wife. It is one of life's finest experiences when a relationship grows into a permanent bond of love. This meeting and this growth bring us together today," Nolan says as he looks at both Emily and Dimitri.

"Dimitri and Emily, will you take vows here before all of us today that will symbolize your devotion and everlasting love that will hold you together throughout your lives?" Nolan asks.

"We will," Dimitri and Emily repeated together.

"Now your vows," Nolan says.

"I, Emily, take you, Dimitri, as my best friend and love, beside me and apart from me, in laughter and in tears, in conflict and tranquility, asking that you be no other than yourself, loving what I know of you, trusting what I do not yet know, in all the ways that life may find us," Emily tells Dimitri.

"I, Dimitri, take you, Emily, as my friend and love, beside me and apart from me, in laughter and in tears, in conflict and tranquility, asking that you be no other than yourself, loving what I know of you, trusting what I do not yet know, in all the ways that life may find us," Dimitri tells Emily.

"Let these rings be the symbol of unity and peace in which your two lives are joined in one unbroken circle. Wherever you go, return unto one another and to your togetherness," Nolan states.

"I give you this ring to wear upon your hand as a symbol of our undying love," Dimitri says as he slides the ring on Emily's finger.

"I give you this ring to wear upon your hand as a symbol of our unity in undying love," Emily tells Dimitri as she slides the ring on his finger.

"Your souls are now one, till death do you part, you shall always be apart of each other," Nolan says.

"Now I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss your bride," Nolan says.

Dimitri pulls Emily into his arms, and his lips find hers. It was their very first kiss as husband and wife.

"It is this love, based upon a responsible understanding, that will aid you in creating out of your two lives, marriage and happiness you will share together. Stand fast in hope and confidence, believing in yourself and believing in each other," Nolan says.

"As you two have come before your friends and family and have declared your love and devotion to each other, I now greet you with them as husband and wife," Nolan says.

"Now, Let's Party," Hanna shouts.

Everyone breaks from their spots to head to the banquet set up in the other room.

"Finally, you guys are hitched," Chris says with a giggle. "Chris, your not far behind me," Dimitri says as he laughs with Chris.

"The two of you will rebuild the royal family," Nolan tells Dimitri. "I don't think Emily wants any part of the politics. I'm taking her back to my country home to live a quiet and peaceful life under the protection of my Queen Amelia," Dimitri says. "I can't blame her, you two will be happy there," Nolan says.

Dimitri and Emily head over to the tables set up for the guest. "It's beautiful, they have really outdone themselves," Emily says as the smile spreads across her face.

"You look beautiful, "Dimitri tells Emily. "Not bad yourself, husband," Emily says with a giggle.

"Pretty cake," Emily says as she gets ready to cut it.

Emily cuts the first piece. "Don't get any ideas," Dimitri says with a smirk. "I would never," Emily giggles.

Emily feeds Dimitri a bite without getting too much icing on his mouth. Dimitri, on the other hand, makes a bigger mess but cleans her lips with a kiss.

The cake was moist and was devoured among the guests. Even the ones that couldn't eat real food tasted a sample.

As the cake disappeared, all the guests seemed to be having a good time.

Everyone that's not the undead gets plates from the buffet table.

With everyone seated, Emily and Dimitri join them at the head of the room.

Everyone now finished knew what was to come next as they all stood waiting on Dimitri and Emily.

Dimitri and Emily gather at the center of the room. The music fills the room as everyone watches them dance their very first dance together.

Dimitri and Emily dance along the dance floor in their own private world.

Dimitri seemed so graceful like he had been dancing all his life.

Until he lost step and crushed poor Emily's foot leaving her to laugh as Dimitri looked horrified. "I'm so sorry," Dimitri apologizes.

"You're fine, my love. I have faced much more than a foot," Emily says as she pulls Dimitri back into her arms and continues to dance.

With one last spin, the music changes to a fast beat signaling everyone else to join them out on the floor.

Dimitri breaks into a fast dance, taking Emily by surprise.

Even Queen Annabell and King James surprised everyone when she joined them and showed them up in moves. Who knew a queen that old could be up to modern times.

"You having a good time?" Dimitri asks Emily, who smiles at him. "It's perfect," Emily replies.

The music comes to an end, and everyone heads out of the church to tell the newlyweds goodbye as they start a new chapter in their life.

All the ladies gather as they wait for Emily to throw her bouquet of flowers.

With a toss, the flowers go flying, and Jen catches them. Everyone grins as they know it's only a matter of time before Chris will marry Jen.

Dimitri sweeps Emily off her feet, pulling her into his arms as everyone cheers.

"Now, let's start our new life, my sweet wife," Dimitri says as he heads down the walkway.

Trip To China - Chapter Fifty One

After pestering Dimitri, he finally agreed to take me to the beach for some much-needed relaxation. "This is nice," I tell Dimitri, who is relaxing beside me in the chair. "It feels good to be in the sun once again. That year was a dark lonely year without you and the sun," Dimitri says as he sighs.

"If you told me everything that we would have to go through to get to this moment, I would have never believed it. It would be nice to get away from here for a little while," I tell Dimitri in hopes he takes my hint. "Then why don't we?" Dimitri says as he looks over at me with a big grin. "I think I'm well enough to travel. Please," I beg him. "I knew you would say that," Dimitri says as he starts to laugh. We spend the day relaxing in the sun and playing in the ocean.

Dimitri comes out all dressed ready to go back home when all of a sudden he pulls out his phone and makes a call. "Yes, I want to book a flight to China for two," he tells someone. "Yes, I will need a reservation made at the Dragon Inn," he adds. "Yes, that will be fine. I will go over all the details in my email later. Thanks," he says, then hangs up the phone. When I hear him mention the Dragon Inn in China my heart flutters. I remember when he took me there to hide me when I was younger.

I asked him what he was up to, but he just would shrug his shoulders and grins at me. I knew we were going to China, but he wouldn't say when. In one last attempt, "Are you going to tell me what you were talking about on the phone earlier?" I ask, hoping that he would spill the beans.

"Ok, you win," Dimitri says as he grins even bigger. "I want to take you to China to visit the places that I took you many years ago. I know how much China means to the both of us, and I think it would be good for us to get away for a little while," he says. "We're going to China!" I say in a high pitched voice like a small child would when they get excited. Dimitri lets out a small laugh as he watches me with pure amusement. "When are we going?" I ask, not wasting any time. "In a few days, is that alright," Dimitri asks. "Yes, perfect. I can't wait," I say as I run to him and wrap my arms around him.

A few days pass, and it was time for us to head to the airport. "You ready?" Dimitri asks me. "I'm ready; all the bags are packed," I respond. "Ok, let's go," Dimitri says as we head out the door to the taxi waiting for us.

After a few flights, we were now in China. Dimitri booked us the same room we had when he took me here to hide me with Chris. It was a special time but filled with heartache too. I felt my sister die that night and didn't realize until later my sister actually died and became a Night Walker. I often wondered what she was doing since the day me and Dimitri left all the Nightwalkers that day. I shove those thoughts aside to enjoy myself.

Dimitri grabs me, pulling me into his arms. His lips find mine as he takes me hostage with his mouth. Dimitri doesn't care who is around as he continues to kiss me.

"Dimitri, someone will see us," I muffle against his lips. When he breaks it off, he's all smiles, leaving me winded by his kiss. "I don't care who sees. I'm not wasting another minute to show you how I feel," he says.

"Let's take a walk. It will do you some good to get some fresh air," he says as he grabs me by my hand.

We walk around town, taking in all the breathtaking sights. All the buildings, bridges, and statues tell their story. "It's stunning, better than last time we were here," I say with delight.

"It's breathtaking. It's hard to believe that we were here many years ago. It still looks as beautiful as it did then," I say as I catch up with Dimitri, who is taking in the sites.

After looking at the scenery, we head into a local shop to research some of the local attractions that made this place so special. "It's been a while since I went to the landmarks that hold a lot of the history of China. I need to get a book so I can navigate around to show you some of the wonders that exist here.

Dimitri gets a book off the shelf while I go through several of the books on the shelves.

I continue to move along the shelves until I run across some of the adventure attractions.

I walk out to find Dimitri. He's sitting by himself at a smaller table in the shop.

"Find anything good?" I ask as he flips through the pages. "There are a lot of temples we can visit. I haven't been to a lot of these since I was a child," Dimitri says as he looks up at me.

We head to the first temple that is breathtaking. Once we get inside, we are surrounded by massive statues and displays. "This temple as well as a few others lets you discover hidden doors, and they have treasure chests that have souvenirs," Dimitri says.

"If you feeling up to it, then I think it would be fun to explore further than the surface," he says.

"I'm so ready for this, I will race you," I say as I turn and take off, leaving Dimitri wide-eyed. "Emily, don't overdue it," he shouts at me from behind.

I let out a giggle knowing I'm not risking anything by using my fairy powers to get the lead. I take off down the street with Dimitri gaining on me.

"I will catch you," he says as his breath comes out ragged. I can't help but smile at myself.

We reach the temple almost at the same time. Dimitri is out of breath as he wraps his arms around me. He pulls me over to a small couch so he can recover from my little game.

After Dimitri regains himself, he leads me down a set of steps into a small room that has several statues lining the walls. Dimitri walks over to a small concrete square built into the floor. He steps on it, revealing a hidden door that opens.

It leads to another room that has a chest sitting against the wall. I walk over, opening the chest to see what it has inside. There is a tiny note at the bottom, giving us our next clue. What lights our world will guide you to your desired destination, it reads. I look over at Dimitri as he thinks about the clue. "I got it," he says as he walks over to the wall near the torch on the wall. He pulls at it, revealing another hidden door. "Good job," I say as we head through.

"There is another chest at the far end of the room. I open it revealing another clue. Hidden in this room, you find the key that will help you get to your next destination. You may think you know what you seek, don't be fooled. It's more difficult than you realize, it reads. I look over at Dimitri as he starts looking around the room.

I walk over to the door that has a chain that has it locked. Well, I can see it's not a traditional key. I examine the chain to find there is no lock on the chain. There is no doorknob either, which leaves me puzzled. I reread the clue again to see if I can make sense of what I'm looking for. I look around the room, and that's when I notice the odd plaque on the wall. It has a star shape carved in it.

I start looking around the room, looking behind statues, behind tables. I come up with nothing. Dimitri starts looking along the wall to see if he can find a hidden door that might be hidden as the real entrance. He comes across a small loose brick. He wiggles it out, revealing a stone star. "That's it," I say in delight. Dimitri walks over to the plaque on the wall, inserting the star. The door swings open, revealing the next room.

Dimitri walks over to the chest. He reaches in, pulling out the next clue. To reach your final destination, you will have to find the right spot, it reads.

As Dimitri shuts the chest, I see a spot on the floor that looks a little off. I step on it, listening to the wall move. "That was fast," he says with a smile. "I learn from the best," I say as I head for the door.

We enter the room and find two chests. He takes one, and I take the other. We both open the chest revealing a cool little lamp that has a note attached. This will light your way through the darkness. I think it's adorable. We decided that we had spent enough searching for the day. We head back to our room.

When we get back, my stomach is growling. I start pulling things out of the fridge in our small kitchen.

Dimitri heads to the bathroom to clean up as I finish our dinner.

When he comes back, it's ready. I fix us some plates as he takes a seat at the table.

We dig in, and my stomach thanks me. "It's not much, but I was hungry," I say with a small shrug. "It's perfect," he says as he shoves a spoonful in his mouth.

"I haven't had that much fun in a long time," he says. "I know, it was fun going on our small treasure hunt," I say as I smile at him.

We finish up in record time. I'm all a sudden exhausted.

I get cleaned up and head to bed. Dimitri is not that far behind me.

I snuggle up to Dimitri's back as his breath comes out steady. He's as tired as me. I finally drift off to sleep.

We get up and decide a little friendly game of chest was in order. Dimitri wasted no time in kicking my butt. "I think you are cheating," I say with a tease.

"I would never cheat, unlike someone I know," he says with a big grin. I know he is referring to my little game of chase. I can't help but smile at the thought. After we get cleaned up and dressed, I have a surprise for you," he says. "What are you up to?" I ask, giving him an eye. "You will see," he says.

We get dressed, and he leads me out on the balcony. I gasp as I look around at the area he has set up for us to be alone. "I don't remember any hot tub here last time," I say as I take in the balcony. "It's been remodeled since the last time we were here.

We hit the hot tub first, and it's not as hot as the usual ones, I guess he had it turned down a lot because of the baby. Either way, it was relaxing every muscle and joint in my body.

"A girl could get used to this," I giggle as Dimitri leans back, enjoying himself. "That's exactly what I want to do," he says.

"Are you enjoying yourself," he asks. "You bet, this is the most I have relaxed in so long, I can't really remember the last time I got to have fun and relax," I reply.

Dimitri pulls me to him, planting a kiss on my lips. "I plan on making sure you and this baby are happy and protected," he says.
