Once down in the dungeon, the guard opened the dungeons heavy metal door, slinging Amelia into the cell, causing her to trip. Amelia fell face-first into the hay that was on the damp rock floor.
Amelia jumped to her feet, dusting off the hay on her dress. Amelia began to cry as fear washed over her.
"You are under arrest for the death of Prince James and will await sentence for your crimes that you are accused of," the guard told Amelia.
"What about my kids?" she asked, now in a panic fit. "The queen will decide what to do with them, not like you will ever see them again. I figure she will behead you like all the others. They did less to her majesty," he chuckled.
A few hours later, Amelia heard footsteps approaching down the hall from the steps. To her shock, she saw the guards escorting her daughter. "Join your mother," she told Annabell. "Why is she here?" she cried out. "The queen doesn't want anything to do with you or your daughter. The queen thinks that you both are cursed and wants nothing to do with either of you," he told her as he shut the metal door behind Annabell.
Annabell ran to Amelia, wrapping her arms around her mother's waist. Tears began to run down Annabell's face. She began to cry so hard that she could barely catch her breath.
When the guards left, Amelia bent down to comfort her daughter. "It's alright, you're here with me. I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding. I will talk to the queen as soon as she gives me an audience to straighten this out," she told Annabell. "She said she didn't want you or me because we are cursed," she told Amelia crying even harder. "I don't think she would say something that terrible about you, my love; you are the most special little girl there ever was. I think they were lying," she told Annabell, knowing that it was true what they said.
After a few hours, Annabell fell asleep on Amelia's lap. Amelia sat, wondering what Kristen was going to do with her and Annabell. "Could she be that cruel to her own grandchild?" she kept running through her mind. She now feared for the life of her daughter and the fate of her son.
William found Kristen in their bed-chamber. "I can no longer keep quiet. I can't stand by and watch what you're doing to Amelia and Annabell. For God's sake, shes my granddaughter, flesh and blood. She may not be in your eyes, but she is in mine. If you continue on this path, I will have to leave you. I can't watch this," he told her.
"You would really leave me? She killed our only son, and now you want me to have mercy on them? I can't believe what you are asking me," she turned her eyes away from his with tears streaming down her cheeks. "If you love me, you will just ban them and not kill them," he told her. "Fine, have your way, but I will never forgive her for her treason," she replied.
William wasted no time in getting down to the dungeon. He walked over to see that Amelia and Annabell were unharmed. He unlocked the big metal door releasing them. "Please go and don't look back; take Annabell and find a safe place. Kristen has decided to ban you and Annabell and spare your lives," he told her. "What about my son?" she asked. "I will look out for him. You know she will not let him go. This is the best I can do. I will ready the horses for you and Annabell," he told her.
"I can't thank you enough for all your kindness over the years to my family and me. I will never be able to repay you for your kindness," she told William. "You are my family. I will always love you and my granddaughter," he told Amelia right before she left.
William bent down and gave Annabell a hug before she left. "Remember that you are special in my heart, I will always love you, I hope to see you very soon," he told her with tears in his eyes, know that he may never see her again.
